General Solution:
-
Affected clients (players who joined other's match experiencing the mismatch) exit the current match using the hand menu.
-
Clear the physical space history in the Quest system settings: Go to Quest Settings > Privacy and Safety > Device Permissions > Clear physical space history.
-
Rejoin the match.
If the issue continues:
- The host (player who created the match) should also exit the current match using the hand menu.
- Clear the physical space history in the Quest system settings: Go to Quest Settings > Privacy and Safety > Device Permissions > Clear physical space history. This will not clear any maps you have created in the game, but you will most likely need to realign them.
- Recreate the match and invite others to join.
Tip: if the floor level appears incorrect after clearing the physical space history, reset the floor level in the system menu while in the game: Go to Environment Setup > Boundary > Set floor level.
If the issue persists, try the additional steps:
-
Ensure Enhanced Spatial Services is enabled: Go to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Device Permissions > Enhanced Spatial Services (both host and clients).
-
Verify the internet connection (both host and clients).
-
Place a new Gather Here sign: In Map Preview, click the New Gather Point button to place a new Gather Here sign at your current position (host).
-
Before placing the sign, turn 360 degrees to let the headset capture the surrounding space.
-
It's best to place the new Gather Here sign near the center of your map.
-
Select a location with good contrast points around. The headset looks at your surroundings and keeps contrast points to build a spatial picture, then joiners try to find those contrast points to understand where the Gather Here sign is. A good counter-example is that clients could never recognize the Gather Here sign in a perfectly white room. Most homes and outdoor locations naturally have enough contrast, but in some offices with uniform walls and floors, it's helpful to keep this in mind.
-
-
During the joining process, instruct clients to stay near the Gather Here sign and look around to help their headsets recognize the environment and realign. This process can take up to 30 seconds to 1 minute (host).
If the issue persists, try:
- Restart the headset: Ensure all pending updates are applied when restarting
